The strophalos of Hekate is a golden phere with lapis lazuli enclosed in its centre, which is spun by means of a leather thong, and which is covered with symbols : as it was spun they made their invocations.

The 2024 - Program for the 10th of March

This year’s symposium is curated by Sorita d’Este and Emily Carding - they have been collaborating on projects for more than 15 years and co-created The Torchlit Path, a devotional study program aimed at devotees who want to learn from history - but create personalised, modern and creative devotional practices. It is our experience of leading the Torchlit path that inspired the theme for this Symposium. We hope that it will encourage fresh discussions on Hekate’s place in the modern world - and the hopes and dreams of modern devotees for how this movement will evolve into the future. Our speakers come from a wide range of backgrounds and traditions, and from all over the world.

As for the 2021 online Symposium, we are offering tickets at a fixed price (£28), “by donation” (you decide what you can afford) and a sponsor ticket (£100, and you will get a mention on our website and program - business links welcome). This was inspired by the equality meals offered to Hekate and Zeus in ancient Anatolia, where all would gather for a feast equally and with no prejudice inspired by money or status.

All profits made by Theurgia Ltd by guarantee (i.e. non profit) are invested in creating resources to promote knowledge of the Goddess Hekate and to promote polytheism through our activities. In the past this has included many free, by donation and low cost classes and resources - these are being re-formated / recorded in 2024 and will form part of our offerings going forward - together with many new projects.
